Mission to Japan - April 2003

In April, Pastor Rick led a short-term mission team to Fukuoka, Japan, at the invitation of the Evangelical Free Church missionaries who are planting a new church in the Fukuoka area.

Three of our team members were from mainland EFCA churches. Prior to our departure we received excellent training from veteran mission team trainer, Linda Sauke from the EFCA International Mission Headquarters.

The purpose of the trip was to help prepare for the establishment of Itoshima Evangelical Free Church. This new congregation is located in a community of 67,000 people, west of Fukuoka City, where there are only 50 known Christians. We took daily prayer walks in the neighborhoods surrounding the new church. We also ministered in the Fukuoka Evangelical Free Church, established in 1995.

Looking Forward...

Our congregation is looking forward to a continuing partnering relationship with the Itoshima Evangelical Free Church.
