"40 DAYS OF PURPOSE"

Mililani Community Church joined more than 4,000 churches across the county in the Fall of 2004 for the "40 Days of Purpose" Campaign.

"40 Days of Purpose" was a comprehensive emphasis on God's five purposes for our lives as individuals and His purposes for us as a local church. Each Sunday Pastor Rick gave a message on one of God's purpose for our lives. Every member received a Purpose Driven Life book for 40 days of personal daily devotions. There were weekly Scripture memory verses, and weekly Sunday School curriculum and small groups for all ages emphasizing each of the five purposes (Go to www.purposedriven.com for more information). Almost everyone in the church participated in a small group for these forty days. Even the Children's Church had their own curriculum and joined us in this comprehensive emphasis.

Our goal in this campaign was to become a more healthy and fruitful congregation for God's glory and the furtherance of the gospel in our community and the world. During this period the Lord brought a number of new families and individuals into our church. It was a special joy to be able to minister to eight military men who joined a small group we started on Wheeler Army Base. These men were deployed to Iraq in early 2004. We had the privilege of equipping them in God's Word before they left to serve their country and serve Him.
