NURSERY

The nursery is available to children from 0-2 years of age. The volunteer nursery staff provide safe and gentle care while taking advantage of the opportunity to teach babies and toddlers through associations and feelings that later develop into concepts and attitudes about God. They are introduced to simple songs, Bible stories.

When a child becomes a regular attendee, the parents will be asked to serve on the nursery team once a month. They join other volunteers, and the nursery coordinators who provide a wonderful first-church experience for these precious little ones.

The nursery is available for all Sunday Services, and special events as announced.

PRE-SCHOOL AGE

During the Morning Worship Service, the Preschool children who are 3-4 years of age have their own Sunday School time in the nursery department. We use the David C. Cook Sunday School curriculum.

Research indicates that by the time children are ready for kindergarten their basic attitudes and habits are formed for life. Therefore we take our ministry to two, three, four and five year olds very seriously.

We believe in building a solid spiritual foundation through songs, stories, and a variety of learning experiences. Our goal with our children is to help them know our Lord Jesus Christ and to learn how to apply God’s Word to their daily lives.

ELEMENTARY CLASS

On Sunday mornings our curriculum explores studies in both the Old Testament and New Testament using the David C. Cook curriculum.

CHILDREN’S CHURCH

Our children’s church program is for children age five through the sixth grade. Children join the adults for the first part of the worship service and are dismissed after the opening songs and offering. On the first Sunday of each month, families worship together for the entire worship service. On the Sunday’s that the children remain in the worship service, our pastor gives a children’s message prior to the sermon.

The Children’s Church service includes singing, Bible lessons, Scripture memorization, an offering, and prayer. Also included are videos, games and crafts. We are privileged to have Dan and Cheryl Olson as directors of this ministry.

Goals of the Children’s Church Ministry:

• That each child come to know Jesus Christ as Savior
• That each child grow to love God’s Word
• That each child desire to pray for others and for one another in the class
• That each child desire to give to Lord’s work
• That each child exhibit God’s character in their daily lives

SUMMER VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

Vacation Bible School is a high point of the summer for elementary age children, ages 4-12. VBS meets mornings for one action-packed week. Volunteers provide Bible lessons, skits, music, snacks, crafts, recreation and missions for the enthusiastic children who attend. Our Vacation Bible School program for the past several summers on Oahu has been a joint outreach with Pacific Islands Bible Church or New Hope Mililani. Scores of kids have enrolled in our VBS over the past summers led by the youth of Mililani Community Church.

Our youth have also conducted Vacation Bible Schools on the neighbor islands of Kauai, Maui and Hawaii as well as in Brooklyn, New York, New Orleans and the Navajo Nation in Arizona.

AWANA

Many of our church families participate in the Awana Club program (“Approved Workmen are Not Ashamed” - II Timothy 2:15), hosted by Wapio Community Baptist Church. We meet on Friday nights from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. Several MCC parents participate as group leaders.

This program is designed for kids from 3 years of age through High School. Exciting games, relevant Bible lessons, memory verses, awards and snacks are just some of the parts of the total Awana program. For further information please contact the Associate Pastor at the church office - 625-6205.
