Our Missionaries
Our missionaries are based in Africa, Brazil, Cambodia, France, Japan, and Hawaii. They are engaged in evangelism, preaching and teaching, church planting, Bible translation, youth ministry, and international music ministry. All of these people and their ministries are motivated by the vision of spreading the gospel to the entire world.

The Crowleys have been involved in the task of church planting in Cambodia. They have established 15 churches and have seen more than 1000 people come to Christ. JD has also been involved in the translation of the book “Creation to Christ” into Khmer, the official language of Cambodia.

The Gorrells are involved in friendship evangelism and church planting in France. The evangelical population in France is believed to be 0.5% of the whole population. Most French are not familiar with the term evangelical and are suspicious of any group that might be labeled as a ‘sect’.

Ministry of Music in Hawaii and around the world
The Hongos have a very special music ministry. They formed Christian Vision in 1981 and have done 15 recordings over the years. They also have an international ministry of traveling and presenting concerts throughout the US and other countries. The Japanese people world-wide have been their prime audience, although they have also shared the gospel in song to peoples of many nations and ethnicities.
Jim & Kay Kakumasu
Location: Retired missionaries to Brazil with Wycliffe Bible Translators

The Kakumasu’s served with Wycliffe Bible Translators. They worked with the Urubu-Kaapor Indians in the state of Maranhao in Brazil. They spent some 40 years there, translating the New Testament and some portions of the Old Testament into the language of the Urubu-Kaapor Indians. They presently reside in Los Angeles. The church they are attending in L.A. has started a course on “Visions for the Nations”, which they are currently involved in.
Jim & Lois McNeill
Location: Russia
Population: 146,933,847
Religion: Freedom of religion was written into the constitution, although Russia is ranked 58th in the World Persecution Index. The Orthodox Church has large political influence.

The McNeills are missionaries that our church currently supports in prayer. We partnered with them in 2000 when Pastor Rick taught for two weeks in the Trinity Equipping Center in Kursk, Russia. The McNeills moved to Russia in 1995 and began to train local pastors and church leaders. Four years ago, they started Trinity Bible College in Kursk. It is a two- year Bible College, residential program to train pastors and church leaders. Students come from all over Russia, as far to the east as the Mongolian border and as far south as the Black Sea and Caspian Sea. They also have students from the Ukraine. The College provides scholarships for all the students they accept, including tuition, room and board, and transportation.
Jim is the director of the college and Lois teaches evangelism courses. Many teachers from America go in to teach 2-week courses. Pastor Rick was involved in such a course a few years ago.

The Saitos are church planters sent out from Mililani Community Church. Jayson is the founding pastor of Maui Community Church, and former youth pastor of Mililani Community Church.
Paul & Carol Suzuki, Stephen, Jessie

Religion: Freedom of religion, but the rising power of nationalistic Shintoism is threatening that freedom. Over 80% of Japanese claim no personal religion, but most follow the traditions of Buddhism and Shintoism.

The Suzuki’s spent their first 5 years in Japan working with Hi-B.A. which stands for High School Born-Againers, taken from John 3:3. This is a ministry where they evangelize and disciple high school students. Every week Hi-B.A. runs 25 after school Bible clubs in the Tokyo and Osaka areas. For the last 2 years, the Suzuki’s have also been in charge of the International Ministries, reaching the expatriate population in Tokyo.

Mililani Community Church is partnering with the EFCAIM missionaries above, in their newest church plant, the Itoshima Evangelical Free Church, in Fukuoka, Japan. Merle & Claudia Wiens

Religion: Full freedom of religion, much of the population professes to be Christian, including many in leadership.

Merle is the Africa Area Director for EFCM (Evangelical Free Church Mission). He is the main liasion between EFCM’s home office in Minneapolis and the Africa Area Office (AAO). He implements EFCM’s goals of church planting and leadership development. Like the Plucars, travel is a big feature in Merle’s job! Claudia works part-time in the AAO and is also involved in a bible-study group with some college girls, a Moms In Touch group, neighbourhood evangelism and hospitality for the many visitors who pass through Nairobi. She also teaches Sunday School.

Danny is the director of Jesus Christ Is Calling You Evangelism Ministry (Inc), or JCCY. Its mission is to make disciples of Christ throughout the world (Matthew 28: 18-19). JCCY holds evangelistic crusades, mass gospel mailings, evangelistic workshops, seminars, book publishing, television and radio programs. JCCY also conducts pastors’ conferences, medical missions, sports clinics, orphanage ministries and construction projects. Their aims are: Lead people to Christ, Assist in the work of church planting, Facilitate indigenous leadership development.
Bible Institute of Hawaii (BIH)
Location: Hawaiian Islands and the Pacific Basin
Mission Statement of BIH: Strengthening God’s People where they serve, through Christ-centered Bible training for Hawaii and the Pacific Basin.

BIH partners with local churches to hold classes at different church facilities, giving local Christians an opportunity to learn more about the Bible. It is a unique organization in that classes are held all over the island at the different churches.
Totally In Christ (TNC)
Location: Hawaiian Islands and the world.
TNC began as a youth ministry in 1993. Since then it has grown and has specialized in the area of discipleship and drama. TNC performs for youth groups, crusades and community gatherings to challenge both teens and adults. TNC discipleship/drama teams have expanded from Oahu to Maui and most recently a TNC team has been set up on Moloka’i. In addition to inter-island trips, TNC also has an international ministry. TNC, under the leadership of its founder, Dr. George Rhoades, took a team of 18 youth and adults to St. Petersburg, Russia in the summer of 2003.
